Dr. Stephanie Enriquez
My name is Dr. Gloria “Stephanie” Enriquez. I am originally from Perry, Iowa but am very excited and honored to now be a member of the Fenton, Michigan area. I graduated from Perry High School in 2006 and then attended The University of Iowa where I graduated with a bachelors of arts in biology in 2010. The next four years of my education were spent at The InterAmerican Univeristy of Puerto Rico where I Graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in the Spring of 2015.
EDUCATION: During my time at The University of Iowa I was fortunate enough to work with The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology researching various ocular conditions including Age Related Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa. I was able to further my knowledgebase on these and various other conditions through my four years in Optometry School. In my final year I had the opportunity to Intern at nine different clinics with various specialties, these include private practice, an optometry/ophthalmology ocular disease practice, primary care, geriatrics, contact lenses, and electrodiagnostics.
My Passion in Optometry: I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some time working specifically with pediatrics and vision therapy, which has become a great passion of mine in the optometry field. Vision is more than just the ability to see 20/20, it includes eye teaming, tracking, focusing and visual perception or our ability to interpret visual information. It has been found that 25% of children have an undiagnosed vision problem that can lead to academic or behavioral problems and many of these problems will not be caught in a school vision screening, I believe in the importance of a comprehensive eye examination to be able to treat these visual problems early in a child’s development, which is why I am a provider of the Infantsee program, this program allows for comprehensive eye examinations at no cost for INFANTS 6- 12 months of age. Often times the symptoms of learning-related vision problems can be overlooked and with my training in this area I aim to give your child the most comprehensive care possible.
AS YOUR EYE DOCTOR………I promise to go above and beyond in order to provide you and your family with the best vision care possible and to continue to further my education through continuing education classes to keep all your care up to date. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the Flint Vision family and look forward to getting to know you and your eye care needs.
Dr. Joseph M. Leppek
My name is Dr. Joseph M. Leppek. I went to Goodrich High School and graduated in 2006. Upon graduation of Goodrich I attended Ferris State University where I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology. The last four years of my education were spent at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL where I graduated as a Doctor of Optometry this past spring of 2014.
During my final year of optometry school I had six rotations where I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in various specialties. My rotations included a private practice, an optometry/ophthalmology ocular disease practice, primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty contact lenses.
